Charities

An essential part of The Udine International School philosophy is solidarity towards the less fortunate. As outlined in our vision statement, we aim to develop children’s capacity for individual growth through the understanding that they can have a concrete, positive impact on the world around them. By supporting our students as they plan and take part in fund-raising events, we help them to develop a sense of responsibility for the world in which they live. We hope that when they give something up; their time, a toy, or their piggy bank savings, our students realise they are gaining so much more in empathy and understanding.

UIS sponsors several charity campaigns and organises various fundraising events during the school year. Local and international charities that our school has supported in the past include:

  • the small clinic ‘Maman Paola’ in the Republic of Congo
  • the distance adoption ‘Project for People’ in India
  • the local association ‘Associazione Luca’ to support childhood cancer patients and their families in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region
  • the annual Telethon race to support research

Our fundraising activities, organised by our students with the support of staff and parents include bake sales, non-uniform days, Christmas crafts sale, student walkathon and food drives, as well as other activities.

The generosity and participation of our families in these projects is quite extraordinary. The Udine International School wishes to thank everyone for contributing to their success.
